Shearers Strike

We learnt about the Shearers strike in 1891 and the story of what happened and why they protested.

Summary
In 1891, a large group of workers known as shearers, were responsible for gathering wool from sheep, so they decided to stop working. They did this because they wanted higher paies and good working conditions and justice overall. They thought that this would help the pastoralists realise that they needed fair pay and needed better working conditions.

Perspective A
Shearers were not earning enough money so they decided to go on a strike to demand for more stuff to help them. They stopped working for more money, they started protesting against pastoralists and fighting back the shearers were attacking or reasoning with people who go past the “line” which just means people that go to work are people who cross the line.

Perspective B
The pastoralists were losing money due to paying the shearers to much money because the demand of wool went down so they decreased the shearers pay which made them want to strike against the pastoralists, so if the shearer past the line the protesters would threaten or reason with each other to join the protest against the pastoralists and threatening the pastoralists. This made the land owners bring in the police to hopefully to stop the strike.

Overall
Over all at the end of the day the Shearers would have lost money if they left their job so they just started working again but some stopped working overall since they didn’t want to be paid very little from this job and because the pastoralists wouldn’t raise the pay and they called the police so they were forced to stop, but this still shows that as a union people are still strong.

Dot to dot connections Kuaka bird

In reading we had a challenge to create a dot to dot connection about the kuaka bird, we were tasked to map out 7 words that connect to the Kuaka bird, we connected 2 words together for every word, we made a sentence about how its related to the kuaka bird linking to 2 words that we choose to link together, the ones highlighted yellow are the ones we did last week and the green ones are the ones we did recently.

Learning the meaning of reorganisation

We learnt what reorganisation is and means.

First we learnt what reorganisation is and the meaning. reorgnaisations is changing the way something is organsied to help find an answer.

Next we got into pairs and guessed the first 6 questions as a practise.

Lastly we did the last 4 individual tasks, they had questions to answer under the text.

I enjoyed the 4 individual tasks. I need to improve on my answers on the individual tasks because i didn`t know where the questions where. I did well on the practise slides in pairs.

Imaginative recount

We learnt what a Imaginative recount plan and a brain storm is, a imaginative recount is a recount that doesn`t exist, a brainstorm is when you think of ideas in your head and other ideas linked to your head.

First we had a vote from one out of four slides, almost the hole class choose a motorbike picture.

Next we made a brainstorm and made some ideas and made a copy of a google slide then made our own ideas under other sentences.

Lastly we made a imaginative recount with our other ideas.

I did well at choosing my ideas and writing my imaginative recount, I enjoyed this activity because we got to write our own imaginative recount, I need to improve on doing work faster so I can help myself get awards.

WW1 Trenches

We learnt about the things that happened in WW1 Trenches.

First we watched three videos about what happened in the trenches in WW1.

Next we wrote down the events that happened in the trenches in WW1.

Lastly we wrote down the effects that happened in the trenches in WW1.

I enjoyed this activity because I learnt new facts about what happened in the trenches in WW1.  I need to improve on writing the events. I did well at writing the effect.
