Letter to Grandma – Boy in the stripped pajamas

LI: To vary our sentence lengths to create pace and impact.

Me and my partner was challenged by our teacher to create a letter to the grandmother of a boy which goes by the name of “Bruno,” these characters originated from the book, movie or story called “Boy in the striped pajamas.” This story is a fictional POV of a kid during 1942-1944. The challenge was to use different sentences for the structure of the letter then we created the letter, for this we used – Simple sentences – Compound sentences – Complex sentences and FANBOYS.

Life in the Annex

LI : To write a description of life with the Frank family in the annex in 1942.

We are reading the book ‘Diary of Anne Frank’. Mrs Anderson created a Gemini Gem to prompt us to think more deeply about what life would have been like in the annex, It help us to imagine how people would’ve felt and how people might have felt and why. I found Gem useful because it let me embrace the story more and give me tips about what life could’ve been like with the Frank family. Overall, Gemini Gem made me think more in depth and write the story while understanding more

The Annex was quiet except for the soft rhythm of a pen softly scraping against someone’s diary and the clock ticking aside the loud screams from all of the raids, a secret heartbeat inside a house cramped into a silent surrender. The wallpaper being engulfed with the element of time, and if we were ever found then we would’ve faced death and have been persecuted into this cramped spacious household that had been divided and forced into surviving and a harsh environment. Our basic and old furniture we polished as a spark reminder for our old neighborhood. Illuminated by a dull but massive light flashing and flickering over our rations making us feel more and more sick by the day as we have less and less food further throughout the war we go. This Annex (a hidden extension of an office building) was where our family envisioned cruelty to the Nazi if they discovered us. Even if this space was small physically, Anne used her writing, imagination and personal morals and ideas to transform the hidden Annex into evidence about human resilience. The thought of being discovered inside our Annex and revealed could be fatal as we hear the faint sound of German footsteps waiting for that threatening knock on the door. I grip my chair and my arms are shaking while I curl  wait for what could be the end. 

Provocation

LI: To Imply and justify an opinion

 I think that the apology from today (2021) was a good thing and it shows that they acknowledge the past (1970’s) and they apologized about the past so that it guarantees they will be no more public outcries and they would not have any rage building up from what they did in the past.

Samuel Marsden Podcast

This task was used with adobe express podcast. we used a Google docs and made a srpict for us to use while recording in the audio. The sripct had two diffrent chacters like Samuel Mardesn and the host. In the sripct we created question and answer them to reverned marsden.

Photo Story

Today we were challenged to make a collage about when we walked down the tamaki river and we stopped many times for photo’s and we went to the Pnt England Reserve to eat, play sport and do other things with friends and with other people, before the walk our teacher asked a question to us and asked what we think he saw when samuel marsden saw when he arived to New zealand, it was a nice and fit walk to do and we saw some wonderful people walking past, our teachers took a lot of photo’s like group photo’s and photo’s while we were walking, when we arived back to school we did a activity and asking someone that’s pretending to be Samuel Marsden and we asked them questions about what they think Samuel Marsden saw because they were acting as him.

Nightmare prank

We made a movie film. The movie is about a kid at night getting scared and then was pranked then he got revenge.

First we got into groups of 2 and 3 or alone.

Next we chose a movie to film and tittle.

Lastly we made the movie text so we could film.I did well on choosing the story that we could film. I need to improve on the tittle. I enjoyed writing our story.

Simple, Continuous and Perfect Verb Tense

Yesterday the class learnt about verb tense; they are,simple,continus and perfect.

First we thought of a sentence to mach simple,continus and perfect then wrote it on piece of paper

Next we did the poses and took a photo of them. Kaleb and Aj running around, Brook trips on the grass and Alicty plays with her friends.

Last we put the phones back and put the Verb tense on a Google drawing.

I enjoyed doing the poses because it was kinda funny.

I did well at choosing the backround.

I need to improve on not talking and stop stoping my team doing their work.
