Our challenge today was to co-construct ways we can make the most of our learning time in LS2. We thought about what we expected to happen so we could make the most of our learning time then thought about what our teachers expected. I collaborated with Vaingalo, Vili and Easton. This activity was interesting because I learnt how in LS2 we have high excpectations.
What did Samuel Marsden see
LI: To use the information in the diary extract to create an image of what we think Samuel Marsden saw when he sailed down the Tamaki awa.
We used Adobe Express to create what we think Samuel Marsden saw when he came down the Tamaki river. We included farms, Wakas and a village uptop the mountain because that’s what we envisioned about when Samuel Marsden saw when he came to Aotearoa. We learnt how smart AI is and how powerful AI is todate.

The Kokako
LI: To use our smart searching skills
Our Year 7/8 camp was at Kokako Lodge in Hunua. Our challenge today was to use our smart searching skills to find out about the kokako bird and create an infographic to share the facts we researched in our own words. Something I found interesting about the Kokako bird was that the North Island Kokako is an Endangered specie and it is endemic to the North Island on NZ.
Exploring AI
LI: To identify and understand how descriptive language is used to create a clear picture of a setting in a text.
This is the image I created with Adobe express, I found that creating this was difficult because it was always creating completely different things or it would’ve changed nothing at all and just gave it worst graphics, it was fun because I learnt how AI reacts to certain prompts you task it with and to learn how clever AI is currently.

A Moment in Time
LI: To write a poem that describes a moment in time
At camp we had lots of challenge activities to try. Our challenge in with our poem was to chose our words carefully so that we painted a clear picture of what we were describing in the mind of our readers. Roman, Fern and I have described what it was like to the high beam, We chose this challenge because it was one of our favorite activities and we all liked the idea of doing the high beam.
Kauri Dieback
LI: To understand what Kauri dieback is and how it spreads.
This week we were challenged to make a DLO about facts about the Kauri dieback facts about its disease and that why its important to people and mauri people and how it dies from the dieback disease and how it even catches the dieback infection from the roots and how it spreads
National flag of NZ
Today we were challenged to show the NZ flag evolution and what about the flags and what years they with created, what was interesting for me is that the flags look like and seem britan and I also find interesting was the Chopping down of the flagstaff by Ngapuhi chief home Hone Heke
Expectations
This year in LS2 we had a discussion about how we could make the most of our learning time and what we expect, what we expected was to have good care values, have good confidence, attitude, respect and excellence in LS2 and to collaborate with others and participate and learn new things.

Kia ora and I am Kaleb and I am a year 7 student, my favorite subject is maths and literacy, outside of school I like to play online games with friends because its super fun to do and its the best thing I love to spend time with my friends whenever I can, My goal for this year is to get better at my maths because its my favorite subject
